      Obituary For Helen Mae Youmans

      Helen Mae Miles Youmans, 78 died, Monday morning (Feb. 13, 2006) at Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a native of Meadeville, Pennsylvania, but had lived in many different places during her husband's military career. She had lived in Pierce County since 1962.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jennie Mae Deitrich Miles.

      She was retired from the Pierce County Hospital as an operating room technician. She was a longtime member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.

      Survivors include her husband, William Roy Youmans of Blackshear; three sons, Larry Youmans (wife Jerry) of Waycross, Walter Youmans (wife Dana) of Waycross and Robert Youmans of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Tony Youmans (wife Jenna) of Waycross, Stacy Bashlor (husband Will) of Waycross, Leslie Johnson (husband Jarod) of Blackshear and Ryan Youmans of Valdosta; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter S. Miles (wife Pat) of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Mildred Salazar of Poland, Ind.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.

      Burial will be in the Waters Cemetery.

      The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 at Smith Funeral Home in Blackshear. Online condolences may be expressed online at www.smithfuneralhome.us.
