Death Follows Prolonged Illness.

of Mansfield.

Elmer A. Greene, practically a
Life-long resident of the town of
Manfield. but who for the past year
has been making his home in Ellicottville,
died Sunday night at 11
p. m., at his residence In *West
Elizabeth street, following a long
illness. Mr. Greene, who was a
prominent farmer of this section,
was 60 years of age.
He was born in the Town of Mansfield.
On June 2nd, 1897, he was
married to Dora Schrader of Ma-
chias, and besides his widow, he is
survived by three daughters; Mrs.
Emiel D. Palmer, Syracuse; Miss
Ruth Greene, Elmira, and Mrs. Earl.R.
Stanyon, Great Kills, Staton Island;
one grandaughter, Barbara Ann
Stanyon; one sister, Mrs. Jessie
Crandall of Little Valley and a
brother, Clayton C. Greene of Ellicottville.
Mr. Greene has been a life-long
member of the M. E. church this
village. Two years ago his health
failed him and he was forced to give
up farming. He moved to Little
Valley and after spending a winter
there moved back to Ellicottville
where he has since made his home.
Funeral services wilt be held from
the Greene home in Elizabeth street
at two o'clock, Wednesday afternoon
Rev. J: W. Archibald of the M. E.
Church of this village will officiate.
Interment will take place in the
family plot in Sunset Hill cemetery
here.
