Case of Esther Sackett (dec'd) No. 16441
On this 1st say of August, 1887 at
Greene, County of Chenango,
State of New York, before me, John Frelinghupen, a
Special Examiner of the Pension Office, personally appeared Mrs. Rachel
Hanes, who, being by me first duly sworn to answer
truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this Special Examination of afore'
said pension claim, deposes and says: My age is 48: occupation House-
Keeper. P.O. address is this place.
I knew Esther Sackett, who was a pensioner of
the War of 1812. She was my Mother. Her hus-
bands name was Oliver. He was my father.
I oftern heard him speak of being in the War
of 1812. -- Esther Sackett died June 12, 1887
I was present when she died. She was the widow
of Oliver Sackett & as such drew pension of the War of
1812. My father died Feby 6, 1870. &
My Mother did not remarry after his death.
My Mother was 80 years old when she died
I have understood the questions & my answers
have been correctly recorded in this Deposition
