Mrs. Shaw Rites Tuesday
Mrs. Geneva Shaw of Ripley, a Payne county resident since 1891, died at her home Sunday. She was 77 years old.
Funeral services will be held at the Strode chapel on Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. with the Rev. A. L. McRill of Ripley officiating. Burial will be at Fairlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Shaw was born at Litchfield, Ill., Sept. 20, 1874, to Jasper and Emily Sackett.
She was married to William Stollings in Payne county in 1891. Stollings died in 1935 and she was married to Gilbert E. Shaw at Perry in 1938.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Baptist church and the Womens (sic) Relief Corps of Stillwater.
She is survived by her husband, one son, Walter Stollngs of Oklahoma City and one daughter, Mrs. H. S. Thrasher of Booker, Texas. One brother, Elmer Sackett of Pawnee, and two sisters, Mrs. Hatty Smith of Arnett and Mrs. Lou Clary of Moscow, Idaho, also survive along with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Emma Blanche Henson
Mrs. Emma Blanche Henson, 47, died in Stillwater, Ok., Thursday, August 9, 1928 after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services were held in the Strode Funeral home, 610 Duncan street, at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, the Rev. T. A. Tripp being in caige (sic). Burial was in Fair Lawn cemetery.
The decedent leaves three children, Mrs. Goldie Henderson, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Mrs. Lulu Berry, Crescent, and Alfred Henson, Bristow. She is survived by her father, J. N. Sackett of Stillwater, two brothers and three sisters, Elmer W. Sackett, Pawnee; Geneva McPhail, Ripley; J. P. Sackett, Geary; Mrs. Lula Clary, Stillwater, and Mrs. Hattie Smith, Arnett.

DEATHS AND FUNERALS
Jasper N. Sackett
Jasper N. Sackett, 93, Civil war veteran and pioneer Oklahoman, died Tuesday morning, March 7, 1933, at his home, 923 Lewis street, Stillwater, Ok.
The decedent was born in Stanton, Ill., April 18, 1810. He was united in marriage to Emily Jane Corlew at Walshville, Ill., April 6, 1865, and to this union ten children were born, four dying in infancy. A daughter, Mrs. Blanche Henson, died in Stillwater in 1928. Five surviving children are Elmer W. Sackett, Pawnee; Mrs. Geneva McPhail, Ripley; Jasper P. Sackett, Geary; Mrs. Lulu Clary, Stillwater; Miss Hattie Smith, Arnett. There are sixteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. A siater, Mrs. Susan Smith, 90 years old, resides at Litchfield, Ill.
Jasper N. Sackett enlisted in the first call for volunteers in the Civil war, becoming a member of Company D, 7th Illinois infantry where he served the full term of three months.
The day after his return to his home, he and his three brothers enlisted in Company L Illinois cavalry, where he served for two years. One brother was killed in service. The decedent brought his family to Kansas in 1817, settling at Baxter Springs. In 18$9 he made the run for land in Oklahoma and homesteaded a claim four miles north of Ripley, which he owned at death. He often told the story of the run, describing how he was riding along on his mule when the animal became scared at a flight of wild turkeys and threw him to the ground. Here he staked his claim.
Mr. Sackett was a member of the Stillwater G. A. R. post from the date of its organization.
Funeral services were held at Strode Funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. V. G. Nalley officiating with burial in Fairlawn, There were American Legion services at the grave by Carter C. Hanner Post No. 129.

Elmer Sackett, 89, Services Held Here Saturday
Elmer Winfield Sackett, 89, passed away at a rest home in Pawnee on Dec. 22, 1955.
Born Jan. 25, 1866, in Litchfield, Ill., he came to Oklahoma and settled on a claim near Ingles in 1894. He moved to Pawnee in the Fall of 1909.
He was a carpenter and builder most of his life. His wife passed away in 1946.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Ponca City and Harvey of Pawnee; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren plus two sisters, Mrs. Joe C. Smith of Arnett, Okla. and Mrs. Lula Clary of Idaho.
Services were held at the Poteet funeral chapel on Friday, Dec. 23 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. John Foster of the local Christian church officiating. Interment was at Highland cemetery under the direction of the Poteet funeral home.
