ILLNESS FATAL TO LOCAL MAN
WILLARD BRUHNS DIES IN VAUGHAN GENERAL HOSPITAL AT HINES
Willard Bruhns, aged 34, of 310 S Fifth street, ill the past 60 days, died in the Vaughan General hospital at Hines at 3:40 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The body was brought to this city last evening and taken to the Hagi funeral home where services will be conducted at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. W. W. Cuthp of the Methodist church will officiate and burial will follow in Riverview cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after three o'clock Thursday.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bruhns of this city, Mr, Bruhns was born in Brookfield township June 1, 1916. His marriage with Beverly Southwick occurred at Clintonm Ia., November 7, 1940. She remains with two children, Eugene, aged nine, and Cheryl, seven. Left also are the parents and three sisters, Mrs. William (Deloris) Ranger, Mrs. Richard (Rosella) Wargo and Mrs. Frank Foltin (Marie) Foltin, all of Streator.
Mr. Bruhns resided in Streator 17 years and was employed as a grinder and polisher by the Libby-Owens Glass plant in Ottawa. He was affiliated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Streator, having been in service in World War II.

Bruhns Beverly Bruhns
1921-2000
Beverly Jean Bruhns, 78, of 34 Troy Court, Bloomington, formerly of Streator, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000. at Heritage Manor of Bloomington.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Solon & Baker Funeral Home.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren Brian and Michael Bruhns, Connie Casey and Jeffrey Schaefer.
Born March 10, 1921, in Streator, she was a daughter of Herbert and Rose Mabel (Decker) Southwick. She married Willard Bruhns on Nov. 7, 1940. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1951.
Surviving are a daughter, Sheryl Schaefer of Bloomington; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Eugene W. Bruhns; and a sister, Betty Harding.
She retired from Owens-Ilhnois Glass as a selector.
She resided at 219 W. 11th St. Streator prior to moving to Bloomington in 1981.
