Obituary of Maria (Foor-Larzelere) Sackett, transcribed by Keith Larzelere from a copy of the original item as published in the Clinton Local newspaper of Clinton, Lenawee Co., MI. on Aug. 19, 1926-----
" Mrs. Maria Sackett, who had been in feeble health many years, died at her home on the McCombs farm north of town Sunday night at 10 o'clock.
Since last fall she had been failing rapidly, and died as the result of a paralytic stroke from which she never rallied.
Maria Foor was born in Roscoe, Frederic Co., Pa., November 8, 1855. She came to Michigan with her parents when about seven years of age. The family settled first near Blissfield, afterwards removing to the vicinity of Clinton.
She was married to George Larzelere, who died after 12 years of married life. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive. They are Charles Larzelere and Mrs. Alta Griffin of California, Mrs. William Nortley and Mrs. Thurza Tripp of Evans lake. She was married a second time to Milford Sackett of Franklin township. To this union one son, Leon, was born.
After the death of Mr. Sackett, she lived part of the time with her children and part of the time at the home of her step-son, Milford Sackett. A few years ago she moved to the village of Clinton and then to the residence north of here, where she passed to the world beyond, August 15, 1926.
Besides her own children already named she is survived by two step-children, John and Milton Sackett, three brothers, Burton Foor of Franklin township, Will Foor of Manchester, Elmer Foor of Norvell, two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Scott of Roscommon, Mrs. Lela M. Gary of Toledo, and one half-brother, David Foor, of Colon, three brothers and one sister having preceded her in death. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sackett was a member of the Congregational church of Clinton.
The funeral was held from the home north of Clinton Wednesday afternoon and the burial was at Reynold's Corners Cemetery.

Maria first married George Larzelere and second to Milton Sackett, son of Oramel Almeron Sackett and Susan Betts. My records showed that she was born October 08, 1854 in Michigan. She had four children by her first marriage and son, Leon Sackett with her second husband.
