Notes |
- Harry M. Sackett, was born in Butler, Missouri , in 1879 and traveled with the Doug Morgan Show from the early 1900's into the 1920's. He acted, played drums, and made sound effects. His wife, Nancy (Dyer), sold taffy at a taffy stand. When he left the travelling show, he continued doing sound effects for silent movies in Kansas City, Missouri and played drums. He became a professional photographer. He died in Kansas City in 1948. - [Carol L. Sackett]
[NOTE: The J. Morgan Show toured the Midwest and claimed to be the "World's Greatest Tented Amusement Enterprise: saw its role as presenting "A Grand Triple Alliance of Musical Comedy, Drama, and Vaudeville." In the late 1920s the tent shows faced severe competition from "canned drama," especially talking pictures, and most failed in the Depression. - Thurmon King]
