      Herbert George Sackett, son of Herbert Sackett and Mary Jane Ashby, was born in Canterbury, Kent, on 4 June 1910 and baptized at St Mildred, Canterbury, on 17 July 1910. He died aged 84 in Westminster, London, in December 1994.3 He married in Bridge, Kent, in 1933, Bertha Florence Fraser Smith. Bertha was born in Maidstone, Kent, on 4 November 1911 and died aged 77 in Canterbury in December 1988.
      At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Herbert and Bertha were living at 48 Athelstan Road, Canterbury. Herbert was employed by the Municipal Health Authority as a labourer.
