I just happened upon your website today, 27 Jan 2016, as I was searching for info on Silence (Ames) Washburn Sackett (1770-1865), second wife of Isaac Sackett. I descend from her first marriage, to Zenas Washburn (1765-1813) and am trying hard to prove what I know to be true but can't thus far prove, that Heman Washburn (1795-1848) and Lucius Washburn (1807-1880) were her sons by that marriage. There's no mention of them in Zenas' probate records and Silence didn't make a will so nothing there. I've tried just about everything and my last (almost) hope is that there was an obituary for Silence Sackett that may have made mention of her children (she had none by Isaac Sackett). I've not been able to find an obituary; do you know of one? At the time of her death she was living with the Brownell family who were fairly prominent in the town (Colchester, Vermont) and seem the type to have published an obit. Can you help me? Thank you!
