Notes |
- Joel married Mary Kindman September 3, 1836. There were three children born of this marnage. Her birth date, parentage, and the date of her death are not known. She was a very energetic bustling woman who had the habit of starting several things at once and going on to something else almost before she was well started. Her daughter-in-law, Susan Earl Sackett, lived with here[sic] for a time. The latter was very thorough in everything she did and they got along fine because Susan went along behind Mary and finished everything Mary started. It is said that Mary couldn't even walk across a field without gathering up stray stalks of grain and tieing them together with some thought of using them in the future but she would never get around to it. She was divorced by Joel. In later years she earned a living as a practical nurse. - [Andrew P. Sackett, p. 76]
