William Frederick Sackett, son of George Robert Sackett and Caroline Edith Pillow, was born in Ramsgate, Kent, on 21 September 1890. He was baptized at St Mary's Church, Ramsgate, Kent, on 23 October 1890. He died aged 77 in Thanet, KentG, in 1968. He married at St Paul's Church, Ramsgate, Kent, on 30 May 1915, Ethel Strevens, daughter of George Strevens and ___ Rolleson. Ethel was born in Thanet, Kent, on 6 January 18939 and died there aged 78 in 1971.
In 1891 William was living at 24 Leopold Street, Ramsgate, in the household of his parents George and Caroline, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, aged six months and born in Ramsgate.
In 1901 he was living at 7 Effingham Street, Ramsgate, Kent, in the household of his parents George and Caroline, and was recorded as William F Sackett, aged ten and born in Ramsgate.
In 1911 he was living at 30 Camden Square, Ramsgate, in the household of his parents George and Caroline, and was recorded as William Sackett, a fishmonger, single, aged 20 and born in Ramsgate.
William served in the British Army during the First World War as a Private in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was awarded the Victory Medal and British Medal in recognition of active service overseas. He served in the Balkans from 7 October 1915 and was awarded the 1915 Star.
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, William and Ethel were living at 82 Manston Road, RamsgateG. William was a general carrier.
