Audrey A. Vault, 73, of Utica, died on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Masonic Care Community. She was born on November 11, 1940, in Bath, NY, a daughter of the late Rev. William Aubrey and Edith (Noss) Arlin. Audrey graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1958 and received her RN in 1962 from Albany Medical School of Nursing. She married Frank L. Vault 3rd on August 24, 1963, a loving and devoted union until his death on September 23, 2003. During her much respected nursing career, Audrey worked for Albany Medical Center, Dr. Burton Cooper, St. Elizabeths Medical Center and most recently with Utica Urologic Associates. She also brought her compassionate nursing skills to El Salvador as part of Mission of Miracles with the Episcopal Diocese of CNY. Audrey was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir, played the organ, was a dedicated Lay Reader and Eucharistic Minister, and served on the vestry and altar guild. She was an associate for more than 35 years with the Society of Saint Margaret and a member of the Friends of Emmaus House. In addition to being an active participant in the lives of her children and grandchildren, Audrey was a talented seamstress, needle crafter, musician, gardener and silversmith. Audrey was deeply loved and admired by anyone whose life she touched. Her love, generosity and positive spirit knew no bounds. Always putting the needs of others before her own, her life of service was dedicated to making the world a better place. She is survived by her children, Mary-Elizabeth Eddlestone and her husband, Geoffrey, Anne Jackson and her husband, Christopher, Barbara Olm and her husband, Richard, Carol Thelen and her husband, David, Frank Vault 4th and his wife, Susan, and Linda Vault-Smith; grandchildren, Jessica Olm, James Eddlestone and Lauren Jackson; brother, Rev. Charles Arlin and his wife, Jane; sisters, Mary Arlin and Helen Storm and her husband, Wescott; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Robert Hamilton Vault. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Masonic Care Community for all the compassionate care and comfort given to Audrey. The funeral will be on Tuesday at 10:00 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 40 Faxton St., Utica. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
