Helen Elizabeth Sackett
Former Missoula resident Helen Elizabeth Sackett, 80, of Beaverton, Ore., died March 10, 1986 of natural causes in St. Vincent Hospital in Beaverton.
Born Aug. 3, 1905, in Sapulpa, Okla., she moved to Billings as a small child and attended school there, She entered the Salvation Army Training College in San Francisco and was stationed in Grants Pass, Ore., where she met Edwin Floyd Sackett. The couple were married Feb. 9, 1925, in Grants Pass.
Mrs. Sackett and her family moved to Missoula in 1937. She was employed at various places before retiring from the St. Patrick Hospital central supply department in 1973. She and her husband have lived in Beaverton since 1975 except for visits to Missoula and California.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin Floyd Sackett, Beaverton; three sons, Oliver Floyd Sackett, Missoula; Dale Leonard Sackett, Livermore, Calif.; and Robert Noel Sackett, Beaverton; a daughter, Evelyn Virginia Masterson, Stockton, Calif.; a sister, Iris Kroll, Missoula; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 12, 1986 at River View Cemetery Chapel in Oregon, with entombment in the River View Cemetery mausoleum. Elmer Morlok, a family friend, conducted the service. Young's Funeral Home of Tigard, Ore., was in charge of arrangements.
