William Sackett
MILAN - William Sackett, 70, of 11225 Lovell Dr., Milan, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1989, in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor.
He was born October 21, 1919, in Onsted to James Arthur Garfield and Zoa Belle (Wolf) Sackett. On May 22, 1942, he married Carrie Metcalf of North Adams, and she survives.
He was a resident of the Ridgeway and Lilan areas since 1947. Mr. Sackett retired in 1987 from Universal Die Cast in Saline. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was active in the U.A.W. Local 564.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, William H. Sackett of Indiana and Ronald Sackett of Britton; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Eva) Wasikowski of Coldwater, Susan Curtis of Newport, Mich., and Martha of Butler, Ind.; three brothers, Paul Sackett of Adrian, Roy Johns of Indiana, and Miniowan Johns of Reading, Mich; five sisters, Ella Marie Finch, Mary A. Brouse, Carrie M. Brouse, and Lilly Purdy, all of Coldwater, and Hazel Gamble of North Adams; 24 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchldren.
