CORA L. (FRANKLIN) SACKETT , 91 of Pittsfield, died Sunday, August 12, 1984 in Barry Community Care Center. Mrs. Sackett was born April 27, 1893, in Pike county near Nebo, a daughter of Marshall and Hattie Harlow Franklin. She married Mert S. Sackett June 29, 1922, in Pittsfield. He died in 1954. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pittsfield. Surviving are four sons, Russell of Pittsfield, Lacy and Willis, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Willard of Yates City; five daughters, Mary Borrowman of Griggsville, Lula Mae Bradshaw of Barry, Juanita Miller of Pittsfield, and Cora Watts and Myrtle Tharp, both of Nebo; 30 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 pm today, Wednesday, in Gill-Lummis Funeral Home in Barry, The Rev. Frank Claybourne officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Barry Community Care Center or the donor's choice.

EVELYN LORENE SACKETT ,79, of Rachel Court White House, Tenn., formerly of Pleasant Hill, died Friday, May 16, 1997 in NHC Healthcare in Springfield, Tenn., where she had been a patient since 1993. She was born March 26, 1918, a daughter of Louis and Minnie Crowder Houchins. She married Lacy Sackett, Dec. 2, 1939. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Richard Ladell Sackett of Henderson, Nev.; one daughter, Kaye Ann Turrentine of Chino, Calif.; one brother, Louis Houchins Jr. of Beardstown; three half-sisters, Imogene Burge of Pleasant Hill, Eloyce Carlton and Catherine Carlton of rural Nebo. Services were held May 19 at 4 p.m. in Austin and Bell funeral home White House Chapel. Interment was in White House Memorial Gardens. Attending from here were Imogene Burge of Pleasant Hill, Burdett and Eloyce Carlton, Don and Catherine Carlton of rural Nebo.

Mr. Sackett died Saturday, May 7, 1994, at Crestwood Convalescent Hospital in Redding.

Born May 12, 1926, in Manito, Ill., he moved to Shasta County in 1984 from Albany, Ore.

He was a truck driver for H&H Trucking in Portland, Ore., and a member of the Anderson Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fourth Ward.

Survivors include wife Mary Ann; sons Glen Jr. of Illinois and Terry of New Mexico; stepson Larry Davis of Redding; daughters Laura Smith of Redding, Rebecca Moncrief of New Mexico, Julie Mae Thomas of Albany, Ore., and Glenda Busek of Las Vegas; brothers Harold and Charles, both of Illinois; sisters Mary Wheat and Jessie Lay, both of Illinois; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
