Vernon E. Waltons Host Justwed Bob Shumakers
Honoring newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Bob L. Shumaker, a family dinner was held recently in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon E. Walton of Burbank.
The bride, the former Lois Marie Covert, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walton, with whom she formerly resided while attending Burbank High School.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard A. Covert of Canoga Park.
The couple recited marriage vows before the Rev. Walter Bishop in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Las Vegas, Nev. The bride wore gold printed white faille and a of simulated gold feathers. She carried white carnations on a Bible which was the gift of Mrs. George It Soseman, her aunt and matron of honor. Mr. Soseman stood as best man.
Others traveling to Las Vegas for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Covert and Thomas Soseman, the bride's cousin. The newlyweds left for a honeymoon in Costa Mesa following the rites.
Mr. Shumaker, who was educated in Illinois, served in Korea with the 40th Infantry Division.

Bcn P. Conelly Dies In Hospital
Ben P. Conelly, 68, Rosooe, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Hospital after a seven year-illness.
Mr. Conelly, who was born Oct. 26, 1895 in Memphis, drove a truck for a Beloit firm before he was forced to retire because of ill health. His parents were James H. and Laura Baker Conelly, both of Memphis.
He was married to Flora Pointer on Sept 3, 1935 in Macomb, where they lived prior to coming to Roscoe in 1943. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Soseman and Mrs. Madeline Covert, both of Burbank, Calif; 1 stepson, William Wardell, Rock Island; three grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren, as well as nephews and. nieces.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, five brothers, one half-brothe (sic) and two half-sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday at the [illegible] Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.
Friends may call at the Buc-Wneeler Funeral Home between 7 and 9 p.m. Wednesday.
