      DIED ON AN EXCURSION.

William P. Armstrong is Stricken With Apoplexy on the Fourth Street M.P. Church Excursion.

Tho Fourth Street Methodist Protestant Church, Eastern District. Kev. J. J. White, pastor. gave an excursion yesterday. Among the passengers was William P. Armstrong, aged 50 years, of 41 Bergen street. The excursion left the South Fifth street dock shortly after nine o'clock in the morning, and headed for Hudson Grove on the Sound. When near Fort Schuyler Mr. Armstrong was stricken with apoplexy. He was attended by a physician on board and was carefully nursed. As the physician gave it as his opinion that the unfortunate man could not live more than a couple of days at most the pleasure seekers were greatly depressed, and did not enter into the festivities with the same vim as at the start. Alter spending a few hours at the grove the return sail was begun. Mr. Armstrong was not removed from the boat, as the attention he was receiving was considered better than what could be secured at the grove. When the excursion reached the dock, shortly before eight o'clock last evening, the ambulance was sent for and he was removed in it to his home, where he died inside ten minutes.

The police of the Fifth Precinct stated that Mr. Armstrong had been a minister, but a man of that nature, living at the same number, appears on the directory as being in the paint business, at 133 Flatbush avenue.
