Obituary of Willard F. (Mac) McNees

Willard "Mac" McNees 81, went to be with the Lord at 8:20am on Oct. 4, 2009. He was born April 14, 1928 in Winchester, IN to Leon and Zelma McNees. He married Edie Edwards on Dec. 3, 1977 in Lawrenceville, GA and she survives along with three children Thomas (Renee) McNees, Tennessee, Michael McNees, Indianapolis, Sheree (Nick) Dippel, Brownsburg; two
granddaughters, Alyssa Dippel and Kellie Dippel. Mac was principal of Brownsburg High School in the 1960's where he was known as the flying principal. He owned and flew his own plane. He left education after 17 years and joined the firm of Universal Tank and later became part owner of Phoenix Fabricators and Erectors as national sales manager. He was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church, Brownsburg, graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with a B.A. degree, Masters degree from Indiana University, attended Indiana University Law School, attended Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis Instrument Ground
School of Flying. Mac was a lifetime member of Purdue Alumni Association, Past President Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce, Past President of Sertoma, Past President of Brownsburg Lions Club, served on the Merit Board of the Sheriff's Association of Hendricks County, and
was former Chairman of the Hendricks County Republican Party. The above accomplishments were wonderful but his greatest was his family and especially his two granddaughters, Alyssa and Kellie.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Tues., Oct. 6 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with
visitation there from 11am-1pm. Mac's last wish was to donate his remains to Indiana University. The family has requested no flowers and in lieu thereof a donation be made to St. Vincent Hospice at 8402 Harcourt Road, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260 in Mac's honor.
