Theron Johnston, who developed a multiple vitamin now produced commercially as Theragram M, and practiced medicine in various parts of the United States and South America for many years, died Thursday in a National City hospital at the age of 85. Dr. Johnston of 3076 Mt. Miguel Drive, was born in Boggstown, Ind., and was a graduate of St. Andrews University in Michigan and the Loma Linda School of Medicine. As a young physician her served with the Army Medical Corps in World War I and he produced his own penicillin from cultures during World War II. He founded the Juniaca Clinic Hospital in Peru in 1920, which still is in operation. Dr. Johnston practiced medicine in Battle Creek, Mich., Orange and Los Angeles counties and in Peru. Survivors include a daughter, Maurine J. Sackett of San Diego. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today in Weaverly Chapel in Santa Ana.
