  [MosesHazel.FTW] I stayed in Fred and Mary Shepards' home off and on when I was a teenager in the early 1940s . They were living in Oroville, Washington at the time. I got into trouble with them a lot b ecause I would stay out too late running around with Tom Weed. (Mary Shepard's half-brother ) Some times they would lock me out, I guess to teach me a lesson, but I was a hard learner . The weather was bitter cold in the winter time and Grandma Weed told Tommy to bring me home when I got locked out. Grandma Weed was very kind to me in those years and she really tried to be a sustitute mom because she had promised grandma Shepard she would try to look out for me as much as I would let her.
