Died in Sacreamento
Mrs. Clara Sackett, wife of the late Stephen Sackett died in Sacramento on Monday last, at the Sister's Hospital where she was taken a week ago for treatment for blood poisoning.
Mrs. Sackett who resided in Sacramento, had only recently recovered from a severe case of typhoid fever, and, while still weak, she came to El Dorado to visit her step-father, G. H. Dilthman. While there, a boil of carbuncle appeared on her face, and after treating it awhile herself, Dr. Leisenring was called, and upon his advice she was taken to the Sister's Hospital where it was found that her system had taken up the poison to such an extent that remedies proved unavailing and she passed away as stated.
She was a native of California and was 42 years of age. Besides the step-father mentioned, she leaves three brothers in El Dorado, Edward, Robert, and Fred Schance; and two daughters, Edith J. Sackett and Mrs. Evelyn Price. The family lived for a few years in this city where Mr. Sackett was proprietor of the Klondike, now the O'Keefe property on Coloma St. Mr. Sackett died several years ago, and on Wednesday his wife's remains were laid beside his in the little cemetery at El Dorado.
