He was a traveling salesman for the Beardsley Scythe Comapny, and the Winsted Manufacturing Company of Winsted for twenty years. In later years he had a small farm in Colebrook after he had retired from active business. He settled a great many estates. He was a Reppublican, and a representative to the legislature several times. He married Melissa Fargo, who diedSeptember 30, 1851. [Genealogical and Family History of Connecticut, 1911; page 374]
