DeRoss Bailey, a veteran of the Civil War and a former sergeant of the city, died at his home, 1437 Niagara street, Monday afternoon after an illness of some months. Mr. Bailey was born in Ovid, New York, in 1843. When a young man, he enlisted in the 10th New York Infantry and with that regiment saw service all through the Civil War.
