Death of John W. Sackett
John Wm. Sackett, 84, well-known retired farmer of this village, died Saturday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pearl LaMont, First College avenue, Lima. he was taken seriously ill Friday from a shock.
Born Sept. 26, 1852, in Mecklenberg, Germany, Mr. Sackett came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sackett [Americanized from Segert], to Mendon, when 12 years old. He was married Mar. 12, 1890, to Miss Mary Wardell of Rush. They resided in Lima and West Bloomfield during the past twenty-five years. Mrs. Sackett died Sept. 18, 1935. A son, Clyde Sackett, died in March of 1934.
Mr. Sackett leaves three daughters, Mrs. Cora Harris of Honeoye Falls, Mrs. Esther Kerr of Nutley, N.J., and Mrs. Chas. LaMont of Lima; a son, Derwin Sackett, of West Bloomfield; a sister, Mrs. Mary Burmeister, Lima; also twenty-four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 at the LaMont home with the Rev. Jas. A. Hamilton officiating. The following nephews were pall bearers: Herman, Edw., and Joseph F. Burmeister of Lima; Henry Diedrick of North Bloomfield, Frank Sackett of Pitssford, and Fred Sackett of Ionia. Burial was in the family plot at North Bloomfield.

E. H. Burmeister Dies Friday at His Lima House
Edward Henry Burmeister, 71, died Friday, Sept. 8, at his East Main road home after a long period of ill health. He had hoped to live to celebrate with his wife their golden wedding anniversary in November. He took as his bride on Nov. 29, 1900, Miss Alice Steinfeld, nuptial ceremony taking place at Honeoye Falls Methodist parsonage with the late Dr. Earl D. Shepard officiating. Nearly all of their wedded life was spent on Lima farms. Mrs. Burmeister is an active member of Lima O.E.S.and her husband held membership in Union Lodge, 45, F & A. M. He had been a member of Honeoye Falls grange the past 45 years.
Mr. Burmesiter was born on Mendon Center-Pittsford road, Mar. 1, 1879, the eldest child of William and Mary Sackett Burmeister, who resided on York road, Lima, nearly 60 years.
Besides his wife, Mr. Burmeister leaves a son, Harold; three sisters, Mrs. Correl Weinett, Lima; Mrs. Clara Hollenbeck, Mendon; Mrs. Grace Behnks, Rush; two brothers, Herman O. and Elton Burmeister, Lima.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, at a funeral home in Honeoye Falls, with the Rev. Jack E. Weller, pastor of Lima Presbyterian chord, officiating. Six nephews were bearers. Burial was in the new cemetery at Honeoye Falls.
