Services for Bernard L. Miller, 73, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ron Goodman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert C. Molby. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Miller died Sunday, Jan. 1, 1995, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 9, 1920, at Smith Center, the son of Byron Leroy and Nellie May McNeil Miller.
He moved from Lawrence to Seattle, Wash., in 1938. He returned to Lawrence in 1941 and was a painter for the Buildings and Grounds Department at Kansas University for 32 years, retiring on June 1, 1982.
Mr. Miller was a member of the First Christian Church, Kansas National Guard from 1940 to 1945, a 30-year member of the Eagles Lodge and a past member of the Kaw Valley Good Samaritan Camping Club, all in Lawrence.
He married Ilah Jane Molby on June 24, 1973, in Lawrence. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael L., Lawrence, and Patrick, Olathe; two daughters, Angie McClure, Lecompton, and Judy Hadley, Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Cecil Miller, Topeka, and Eldon Miller, Perry; one sister, Iola Kapfer, Lawrence; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church or the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. They may be made in care of the funeral home.
