Colonel E.A. Howard of CB&Q is Dead,

Colonel E.A. Howard, Vice President of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad will be buried tomorrow afternoon from the residence 445 Barry Avenue. He died yesterday at the age of 62 years.
Years ago Colonel Howard entered the service of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy as a telegraph operator. He was appointed by President Cleveland as agent for the Pima, Moncopa and Papago Indians and later became a National Bank Examiner. In 1900 he returned to the railroad as Real Estate and Industrial Commissioner and soon afterwards was elected Vice President.
Colonel Howard is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mary L. Howard and three sons, Colonel Nathaniel L. Howard, Captain Hubert E. Howard and Captain Eugene A. Howard. He was a Director of the Chicago Athletic Association and a member of the Chicago Club and the Glenview Golf Club.

Since she was to be buried in Fairfield, Iowa her body was taken from Chicago to Fairfield in a special car by the railway company. Married to Colonel Elmer A. Howard. Daughter of Fairfield pioneer Ward Lamson and Maria A. Danielson.
