      ------
Cliff was in the US Navy based at Miramar near San Diego, CA, serving as a radioman when he met Queechy who lived in Yuma, AZ. Their meeting was the result of our Dad deciding, on Christmas Day, 1949, that he would go into town and find a serviceman to share Christmas Dinner with our family. He drove the two miles into town and found two sailors and brought them out to have Christmas Dinner with us. Cliff and his buddy made the 180 mile trip back to Yuma on a regular basis and the following November, Cliff and Queechy were married at Valley Baptist Church near Yuma, AZ.

After servin two enlistments in the Navy, Cliff joined the US Air Force working in computer maintainance. After he completed 20 years of service and retired. After working a few years in the computer industry he retired and moved to Mount Pleasant, TX where he raised registered cattle until his death.

Cliff had undergone quadruple bypass surgery in the summer of 1999 and following a rapid recovery was considered to be in good health. He died of heart failure in the driveway of his home about 10 miles east of Mt. Pleasant, TX. - [Thurmon King]
