Blanche Mae Wantland Gibson was born in De Witt Co, a daughter of Thomas Wantland and Mary Catherine Harp . She married Verne Gibson. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1957.
Surviving are two sons, Keith and Gale; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Oglesby; two brothers,
Albert Wantland and Earl Wantland ; a sister Mrs. Minnie Hrpcha; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and a grandson.

Mrs. Mary Katherine Wantland, 84, of Lane, died at 6 p.m. Sunday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Gibson, 311 West Jefferson street.
She was born December 18, 1862 in Harp township, a daughter of Jasper and Lettie (Jackson) Harp and was married to Thomas H. Wantland, in Clinton in 1881.
She is survived by the following children; Albert and Erva Wantland, of Lane; Fred and Earl Wantland and Mrs. Gibson, of Clinton; Otto Wantland, Harvey; Mrs. Minnie Hapcha, Joliet; also two sisters Mrs. Dora Brenner and Mrs. Armstrong, both of Clinton. Two brothers and a sister are deceased.
She was a member of the Christian church of Lane. The body is at the Reeser funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the New Christian church, Lane; in charge Rev. L. D. Hopper of the Methodist church. Burial will be in Rose cemetery at Lane.
