years engaged in the sea-faring business and had the command of
various vessels. He was married three times : first to Polly, daugh-

ter of Col. John Day of Boston, about 1746 or 7, who d. in Jamai-
ca, about 1755 : next to widow Eunice Ingersoll of Westfield, by
whom he had no issue : and for his third wife to Rhoda Hubbell of
Litchfield, Conn, who d. July 25, 1795. He died at Sheffield,
March 22, 1797, aged 83. Children-
