Death Claims Richard Baker At Salem Home
Richard Harrison Baker, retired farmer, died Tuesday at his home at 1009 S. 12th st after a long illness. He was 58.
Baker came to Salem with his family about seven years ago from Mandan, N. D. He was born July 17, 1891, at Springfield, Ill., but lived most of his life in North Dakota and was married in 1919 in Minneapolis, Minn., to the former Hannah Davis, who survives in Salem.
Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Pauline Osborn, Douglas K. Baker and Beatrice Baker, all of Salem; a brother, Ross Baker, Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Newport in California and Mrs. Myrtle Adrian in Wisconsin; and a grandchild, Judy Osborn, Salem. All were at Baker's bedside at the time of his death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the W. T. Rigdon chapel with concluding services in Belcrest Memorial park.

Hannah Baker
Late resident of 3452 Fairhaven Ave. Fri. May 4th in a Woodburn nursing home at the age of 74 yrs. Survived by son, Douglas R. Baker, Portland; daughters, Mrs. Bea Sparlin, Canby, Mrs. Pauline Conyers, Roseburg; brothers, Jake Davis, Westport, Ore., Bill Davis, Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Alta Hinkley, Payette, Idaho. Services Mon., Apr. 7 at 1:30 p.m. in RIGDON'S COLONIAL CHAPEL, Cottage at Chemeketa. Private interment at Belcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Gene Albertson officiating.
