      FASHIONABLE WESTERHAM WEDDING.
      MR. W. D. MARTINEAU-MISS FORBES.

      There was a large and fashionable gathering at St. Mary?s Church, Westerham, yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, for the wedding of Miss Griselda Margaret Foibes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Grant Forbes, Squerrye?s Court, Westerham, and Mr. Warren Delano Martineau, son of Mrs. Cyril Martineau, of 48, Draycott Place, London, S.W.

      The officiating clergy were the Rev. Harold Anson, Vicar of Tandridge, and the Rev. J. Castle, Vicar of Westerham and the service was fully choral, the choir being augmented by boys from the London Choir School. The hymns sung were "O Holy Spirit, Lord of Grace," "O Perfect Love" and "Father, hear the prayer we offer." The 2Jrd Psalm was also sung end during the signing of the register a boy from the Loudon Choir School sang Handels "Angels ever bright and fair." The Church was beautifully decorated with delphiniums, lilies, rambler roses and sweet peas.

      The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a medieval dress of palest pink satin, beautifully embroidered in pearls, with a wide sweeping train also embroidered and slightly shaped at the ends, and a Juliette cap of tulle embroidered in pearls. In place of a bouquet she carried a vellum Prayer Book, tinged with very pale pink and with a gold cross in the centre.

      The bride?s mother was dressed in a long dress of white georgette, and wore a wide straw hat of the same colour.

      Attending the bride were her six sisters, Miss Angela. Miss Rosemary, Miss Eileen, Miss Monica, Miss Iris and Miss Fiona Forbes, also Miss Jean Martineau, sister of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids wore pale pink organdie picture frocks with wide sashes of blue velvet. Their hats were very pale pinky straw, trimmed with velvet of the same colour, and they carried Victorian bouquets of forget-me-nots and pink rosebuds. They wore diamond brooches, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Christopher Martin was best man.

      At the reception held at Squerrye's Court, the guests included: Mrs. Cyril Martiueau, Mr. Cyril Martineau, Mrs. Price Collier, Mr. Robert Winthrop, Miss Winthrop.       James G. Forbes
      Former Boston Lawyer, Banker, Dies in Paris

      Word has been received of the death of James Grant Forbes, 75, formerly of Boston, an internationally known banker and lawyer, who died Sunday at his residence in Paris.

      He was a graduate of Harvard College, class of 1901, received master of arts degree from Harvard University the following year, and in 1904 was graduated from Harvard Law School.

      He started his career in Boston and after several years he became counsel for an international group that controlled the Brazil Railway Company and other Brazilian operations, with headquarters in Paris.

      During World War I, he was active with the Rockefeller War Relief and the American Red Cross in England and France.

      Following the end of the war, he became London representative of the American International Corporation and later became European partner of Blair & Co., New York investment brokers.

      In World War II, he was a member of the Navy Price Adjustment Board in Washington. He later became a consultant for the Export-Import Bank in Washington and served as special representative of the president of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

      He is survived By his wife, Margaret (Winthrop); a son, John W of Ipswich; nine other children, all living in Europe; a brother, F. Murray of Boston: two sisters, Ethel A. and Mrs. Austin Potter, both of Boston.
