      SCOFIELD, J.L. farmer, sec. 12 Roscoe, P.O. Zumbrota. Born in Green county, NY in 1824.
      Married Sophia Getman in 1856. She was born Herkimer county, NY in 1826. Emigrated to this
      county in 1858 and settled on his present estate consisting of 280 acres, in this and Pine
      Island township. Is one of the early settlers in this town, where he held office of justice
      of the peace two years and always been identified with the interests of the town and county.
      Frank E., Charles W., and Amos L. are their children. Are members of the Con. Church.
