OBITUARY-
Danny Ray Davis, 44, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in an auto accident west of Brownsdale.
He was born April 4, 1958, to Laurel William and Verna May (Hanners) Davis, in Austin.
Danny was a farmer and an employee at Hormel Foods in Austin. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale. He enjoyed chess and gardening.
Survivors include sisters, Julie Davis, Des Moines, Iowa; Lisa (Randal) Young, Ankeny, Iowa; niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant sisters.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at the funeral home and Friday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11:30 a.m., Friday, at the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale with Rev. Jerry Harris officiating.
Interment: Waltham Township Cemetery, rural Waltham.
Funeral Home: Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, Brownsdale.

OBITUARY-
SARGEANT -- Laurel William Davis, 68, of Sargeant, died Wednesday (Jan. 10, 1996) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born June 20, 1927, in Waltham Township and lived most of his life in the Sargeant area. From Oct. 27, 1954, to Aug. 2, 1955, he served in the Army. On Sept. 10, 1952, he married Verna Hanners in Brownsdale. Mr. Davis was a retired farmer and a member of First Baptist Church in Brownsdale. Mrs. Davis is a homemaker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Julie Davis of Des Moines, Iowa, and Lisa (Mrs. Randal) Young of Paris; a son, Dan of Sargeant; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three infant daughters.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Brownsdale with the Rev. Dennis Marx officiating. Burial will be in Waltham Township Cemetery in Waltham.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Vernon-Czaplewski Funeral Home in Brownsdale and an hour before the service Monday at the church.

Mother, son die in car accident
BROWNSDALE (AP) -- A man and his mother died in a two-car crash near Brownsdale in southern Minnesota.
Danny Ray Davis, 44, and his mother, Verna May Davis, 74, who lived together in rural Sargeant, died at the scene just west of Brownsdale, or about five miles northeast of Austin, about 9 a.m. Monday.
The Mower County sheriff's department said Danny Davis was driving south on County Road 16 when his car collided with a westbound sport utility vehicle at the intersection with County Road 2.
