      Claudia Ann Beauchamp
      POSTED: July 25, 2010

MARQUETTE - Claudia Ann Beauchamp, 76, of 1096 S. Lake St., Marquette, entered eternal life Friday morning, July 23, 2010, at her home, in the loving and comforting care of her family and the caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice.

Born Nov. 26, 1933, in New London, Wis., a daughter of Claude and Lucille (Kersten) Sackett, Claudia was raised in Central Wisconsin and Watersmeet, Mich. During her senior year in high school, the family moved to Marquette and Claudia graduated in 1951 from the Graveraet High School. She then moved to Chicago where she attended nursing school for a brief time. Back in Marquette, she met a neighbor, Paul J. Beauchamp, and on Oct. 25, 1952, the couple was married. Together, Paul and Claudia established their residence on S. Lake Street, living in three different locations on the street throughout the years. In 1966, they moved to the current location. After their children were in school, Claudia worked seasonally for Western Auto and later as a lunch supervisor at the Fisher Elementary School for 21 years. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she sang in the adult choir her entire adult life, belonged to the Ruth Circle, served on the Altar Guild for over 55 years, was a member of the Wednesday morning Bible Study Group, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, assisted with Bible School, and in general, was always willing to help out where needed. Claudia's family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were her treasures and she never tired of "doing" for them. Additionally, she enjoyed reading, cooking, and visiting with her many friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Luann Roberts of Muskego, Wis.; four sons, Keith (Pamela) Beauchamp of Skandia, Ralph (Kay) Beauchamp of Harvey, Fred (Laurie) Beau-champ of Skandia, and Tim (Cindy) Beauchamp of Gwinn; her grandchildren, Katie (Todd) Dooley of Iron Mountain, Russ Beauchamp of New Port Beach, Calif., Randy (Jodi) Beauchamp of Ocean View, N.J., Lindsie (Eric) Williams of Marquette, Stephanie Roberts, serving with the U.S. Navy, Stacy Roberts of Milwaukee, Wis., Valerie (Jay) St. John of Marquette, Joseph Roberts of Fort Atkinson, Wis., Fred Beauchamp of Skandia, and Justin Beauchamp of Gwinn; five great-grandchildren, Kalli, Maegan, Christina, Hallie and Vincent; her brother, Keith (Suzy) Sackett of Keweenaw Bay; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Beauchamp.

Friends may call at the Redeemer Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 27 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Weber will officiate and burial will be made in the Northland Chapel Gardens. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.

Pallbearers will be Russ, Randy, Justin and Fred Beauchamp, Joseph Roberts, Eric Williams and Todd Dooley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1700 W. Fair Ave., Marquette, MI 49855 or Lake Superior Hospice Association, 914 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855.

The Swanson Funeral Home is serving the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.fassbenderswanson.com.
