Sackett, 77, died this morning (May 6, 1958) at his home, Canandaigua RD 2, after a brief illness. He was a native of Michigan but had resided in the Canandaigua area for about 40 years. He was employed by GLF, retiring 12 years ago. He was a son of Philetus and Anna Jones Sackett. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ina Higley Sackett; brother, James A. Sackett, Adrian, Mich., eight step-children. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kennedy Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David W. Ayers, pastor of the Federated Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Chapel from 35 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
