Elmer E. Huxtable, a homesteader, who some time ago chased his wife with a loaded rifle, threatening to kill her, was last night found guilty by a jury of assault in the second degree, the penalty being left to the court to fix. Huxtable will probably be sentenced Saturday.

COURT NEWS

Mrs. Hattie Huxtable Thursday brought suit against Elmer Ellsworth Huxtable to secure a divorce on the grounds of extreme cruelty, desertion and failure to provide. The parties were married at Monticello, Iowa, in 1891, and among the instances of cruel treatment cited is one which last year resulted in the man's arrest on threats to kill her with a rifle. John J. Jewell in the plaintiff's attorney.
