      Noble W. Sackett

      Hastings -- Noble William Sackett, 88, of Hastings died Wednesday, Oct 20, 1998, in Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids.

      He was born Aug. 15, 1910, in Gobles to Harry and Nettie (Holmes) Sackett He spent his early years in Otsego and attended school there. He also attended Emmanuel Missionary College in Berrien Springs.

      Before retiring in 1965, he was a self-employed mechanic for 26 years and also worked at area dealerships. He then was employed for 10 years by Pennock Hospital in Hastings and was a blood courier for the American Red Cross.

      He married Flora L Overton on Oct 16, 1941. She died Feb. 10, 1993.

      Surviving are sons, Harry Sackett of Aliso Viejo, Calif., and Frederick Sackett of Yorba Linda, Calif; daughters, Barbara Rutledge of Hastings and Kathy Sackett of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Deal of Kalamazoo.

      Community involvemen/thobbies: Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Defton. Enjoyed woodworking.

      Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. today at Girrboch Funeral Home, Hastings.

      Services: 1 p.m. Friday in the Hastings Seventh-day Adventist Church with the Rev. Phil Colburn officiating.

      Burial: Hastings Township Cemetery.

      Memorials: Three Angels Broadcasting Network, Frankfort, III.
