Mrs. Maud Axley Dies at Stockton
Maud I. Axley, 89, a former resident of Geuda Springs, died at 4 a.m., Sunday in Stockton, Calif.
Funeral services are pending but will be announced by the Jess Rindt and Son Memorial Chapel.
She was born Sept. 10, 1879 in Illinois to Jared C. and Mary Wright Ault.
Her family moved in 1883 to Kiowa county, Kan., and shortly after moved to Geuda Springs.
She was married to Ed Axley April 26, 1902, in Newkirk, Okla. The couple lived for a short time in Oklahoma before returning to Geuda Springs where they farmed.
She was a lifetime member of the Methodist church and was a member of the Methodist church at Geuda Springs.
She is survived by three sons, Vernon Axley, Wichita; Raymond Axley, Madison, Calif.; and Edmond Axley, Stockton, Calif.; two brothers, Earl C. Ault, Sedan, Kan.; and Clarence W. Ault, Graham, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Ada Fox, 214 W. Jefferson Ave., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Orland D. Ault, and two sisters, Jennie Ault and Mrs. Ina Conley Kimberlin.
