      Al Britton, 75, a longtime resident of Silver City, passed away Tuesday at his residence in Silver City. Mr. Britton married Florence E. "Betty" Williams in 1937 in Las Cruces. They made their home in Silver City. He was a sign painter and a member of the Elks Club. He is survived by his wife, Betty Britton of Silver City; a son, Charles Britton and his wife, Jean of Longmont, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at Memory Lane Cemetery on Friday at a time to be announced Thursday. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Elks Club. Curtis-Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      Florence Elizabeth Britton, 84, of Silver City passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, in Gila Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at Memory Lane Cemetery, with the Rev. Larimore K. Wickett officiating. Mrs. Britton was born Nov. 25, 1918,in Raton. She was the daughter of C.H. Williams and Clara Murphy Williams. She married Albert G. Britton on Sept. 5, 1937 in Silver City. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Britton is survived by one son Charles Britton and his wife, Jean, of Johnstown, Colo.; grandchildren, John Britton of Johnstown. Janet Carter and her husband, Charles, of Midland, Texas, Deborah Hull and her husband, Nathan Hull, of Grand Junction. Colo., Christopher Britton of Longmont, Colo., Sheryl Grothe of Denver, and Sherry Rector and her husband, Marty, George Grothe, JoAnn Ward, Joan Votaw, and J.B. Grothe and his wife, Robbie, all of Lane. Okla.; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas H. Williams, and his wife, Marian, of Silver City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one daughter, Margaret Roxanne Grothe; a sister, Virginia Ellison; and two brothers, Charles R. Williams and William G Williams. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
