Cyrus completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was then aged 22 and was a self-employed farmer. He was single and was living at Swifton, Jackson County, Arkansas. He claimed exemption because of a fractured skull and broken leg, but contradictorily was recorded as having no disabilities.3

Burt Alonzo Sackett, son of Edmund Sackett and Perscilla Watson, was born on 25 August 1866.2 He died on 16 September 1944. He was buried at Mt Rest Cemetery, Bergen, Genesee County, New York State. He married first on 28 November 1890, Jennie Collins.3 He married second on 17 August 1904, Mary E Clark Vincent, (1882-1941).4
In 1910 Burt was living at Rochester Street, Bergen, Genesee County, New York State, and was recorded in the census as Burt A Sackett, inspector of crops in a canning factory, head of household, married, aged 41 and born in New York. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his second wife Mary, 26, his children, Irving D, 15, and Dewey, 13, by his first marriage, his and Mary's son Burton, aged three months, and Mary's son Charles Vincent, aged nine.5
In 1920 he was living at Rochester Street, Bergen, and was recorded as Burt Sackett, a laborer in a canning factory, head of household, aged 52 and born in New York. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary, 37, and their children, Burton, 9, Clark, 7, Homer, 5, Ira, 4, and Hilda, aged three.6

Irving Dewitt Sackett, son of Burt Alonzo Sackett and Jennie Collins, was born in New York State on 14 February 1895.1,2,3 He died aged 79 in Girard, Erie County, Pennsylvania, on 23 February 19741 and was buried at Girard Cemetery.4 He married on 14 February 1922, Elizabeth Peters.5
In 1910 Irving was living at Rochester Street, Bergen, Genesee County, New York State, in the household of his father Burt and stepmother Mary, and was recorded in the census as Irving D Sackett, aged 15 and born in New York.6
Irving completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was then aged 22 and was a streetcar conductor for the Portland Railway, Light and Power Company. He was living at 425 North 23rd Street, Portland, and was single, with no dependents.7 He served from 21 June 1918 to 3 April 1919 as a private in the United States Marine Corps.4
In 1930 Irving was living at 36 South 2nd Street, Indiana Borough, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and was recorded in the census as Irving Sackett, a salesman of funeral supplies, head of household, married, aged 35 and born in New York. He was a World War veteran. He owned his house which was valued at $4,000. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 32, and their children, Betty Jane, 7, and Irving Jr, aged four years and nine months.8
He completed a World War II draft registration card in 1942. He was then aged 47 and was employed by the Erie Burial Case Company. He was living at 1056 West 25 Street, Erie, Pennsylvania with his wife Elizabeth.9

Emily Jane Sackett, daughter of Charles Sackett and Eliza Ann DeGraw, was born in New York State on 7 November 18291 and died aged 51 in Redford, Wayne County, Michigan, on 15 January 1881.2 She was buried in the Bell Branch Cemetery, Redford.1 She married Thomas Paulger.3 Thomas was born in Nottinghamshire, England, on 15 January 18294 and died aged 75 on 7 May 1904.4
In 1880 Emily was living in Redford, Wayne County, Michigan, in the household of her husband, Thomas Paulger, a farmer, aged 50 and born in England, and was recorded in the census as Emely I Paulger, aged 51 and born in New York. Living with them were their children, John (20), Thomas (18), and Lucia (7). Also in the household was an unmarried male laborer.5

She was the beloved wife of Guy for 71 years; mother of Gerald Grimes of Bel Air, MD, Roger Grimes of Tucson and Nancy Wellborn of Phoenix; grandmother of ten children and great- grandmother of 17 children. Charlotte was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and moved with her family to Colorado where she met Guy. They lived in Arvada where she was a member of the Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She worked for the State of Colorado and retired to Arizona 15 years ago. She enjoyed crafts of all types and was greatly loved by her family and admired for her courage. Harland Blair Young, 78, of Buffalo, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired carpenter craft supervisor for Union Carbide Construction with 26 years of service. Before being employed at UCC he worked as a Union Trades first class carpenter, Kelly Axe in Charleston and at the Dunbar Glass Plant. He was a 1947 graduate of Buffalo High School and a member of the last All Putnam County Football Championship Team. Blair was an active member of the Shiloah Independent Church and a former member of Otter Branch United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Putnam County and Buffalo Historical Society. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and genealogy. He also farmed on his family's old home place on 18 Mile Creek, Putnam County. Above all, he was a devoted Christian, loving husband and father to five children. Born May 5, 1929, he was the son of the late Clyde B. and Avalon Harrison Young.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Young; and his brother, the Rev. Alvin Young.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Freda Mae Goddard Young; daughters and husbands, Nancy and Warren Keefer of Charleston, and Barbara and Glenn Whittington of Buffalo; sons and wives, Philip and Susie Young of Buffalo, Stephen and Faye Young of Buffalo, and Joseph and Kim Young of Lacrosse, Va.; sisters, Pauline Shinn and husband Herman of Leon, and Norma McLane of Fountain Inn, S.C.; grandchildren, Amanda Keefer, and Melissa (Chris) Thornhill, both of Charleston, Sarah Whittington of Brooklyn, N.Y., Benjamin Whittington of Blacksburg, Va., Rachel (Craig) Elswick of Buffalo, Heather Young of Ashland, Ky., Chris Young of Buffalo, Stephen Young of Morgantown, Meghan and Morgan Young, both of Lacrosse, Va.; step-grandchildren, Ryan Tanner and Laurie Beth Tanner, both of Lacrosse, Va.; great-grandchild, Reese Thornhill of Charleston; and sister-in-Law, Sara Young of Hurricane.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with the Rev. William ?Bud? Hatfield and Pastor Paul Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
